Inspiring the next generation at the Big Rivers Region Career Expo

Sometimes the first step towards a career is simply seeing what’s possible.
Last week, Jeremy and Tristan spent the day at the Big River Region Career Expo at Katherine High School, chatting with students about careers in technology and the different pathways the industry can open up.
And having Tristan there made that message particularly meaningful.
Tristan is from Katherine himself, he knows what it’s like to grow up in the region, and he’s building his own career in IT with New Future IT, This event provided Tristan with the opportunity to connect with students, showing students that opportunities in technology aren’t something that only exist in the major cities. They can start right here.
For us, that’s what events like this are really about. Not simply talking about jobs, but helping young people see a future they may not have considered before.
There were plenty of great conversations, questions and curiosity throughout the day, and hopefully a few students walked away thinking: “I could do that too.”
Regional communities are full of talented young people. Sometimes they just need the opportunity to see where that talent could take them.
A big thanks to everyone involved in the Big River Region Career Expo for having us. We loved being part of it.

For New Future IT, this trip was about more than attending an event. It was about looking ahead. It was about exploring new ways to bring value to regional Australian businesses. And it was about strengthening the partnerships that help us deliver cutting-edge solutions across Australia.
